I met Jerry through the Linn Co. Civitan Club and was always so impressed with his giving heart and generous spirit for so many projects to help others. Thank you for sharing your cabin with our club for several potlucks. I always looked forward to your hospitality and warmth.

I was honored to work with Jerry in a volunteer capacity for many years. He was a cherished friend! Jerry touched the hearts and lives of many people with with his servant’s heart! He will truly be missed!

I enjoyed working with Jerry at the History Center. Always fun when we had a potluck down at their cabin on the Cedar River. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. Jerry will be greatly missed.

I have worked with Jerry many times over the years at Collins Radio Co. (Rockwell Collins) . He Was A Great And Wonderfull Friend. My sympathy and prayers for loss.

My sympathy and prayers for your loss, JoAnn and all of the "kids" and grandkids. Uncle Jerome was such a very kind gentle and giving person. He was a joy to be around. It was always a treat to get an email from him. I will miss that. He certainly had his priorities right. He has given us all an example of how to live. May he rest in peace.

It was my privilege to work as director and as a fellow volunteer with Jerry for many years at the Linn County History Center. He interviewed many of the citizens of Linn County for the Center's Oral History project. These tapes a living legacy to his love of people and his journalistic skills. He is sadly missed but his work remains for the future.

I want to send you, JoAnn, and all of Jerome's family, my condolences on his passing. I was so lucky to have him as an uncle and friend. Because of his generous spirit and positive attitude his presence in our lives was a gift and a blessing. May he rest in peace.

Joann and family, sorry to hear of Jerome's passing. I always felt that Jerome had that same smile and twinkle in his eye that my dad did. Very special! I also remember the story when all of the uncles along with my dad would go out on Saturday night, they had to kneel and say the rosary. She didn't trust them to not get into to trouble. Love to all the family.

Jerry was one of my first volunteers at Noelridge Greenhouse. The program was new and because of his volunteering background, I was able to ask him questions and he would honestly answer me. He told me, "Just treat them like family but make sure they understand they are here to help you and not the other way around." We have a great volunteer program here and it has a lot to do with Jerry and his teachings. Many days he would come in, pull on his coveralls and do something. A lot of the time he did things I had not thought of. "I noticed this needs done", he say. There are few folks around like Jerry anymore, ready with a hug or a smile, a silly or smart remark, stories of the past, willing to help, just plain loving. Our favorite line of his, "Should I have JoAnn make German Chocolate cake?" Our hearts are with you JoAnn and family. The staff and volunteers at Noelridge Greenhouse.

THERE IS NOTHING I CAN SAY THAT ALL OF THE FAMILY AND ANYONE THAT KNEW UNCLE JEROME, DOESN'T ALREADY KNOW. HE HAD THE SAME TRAIT THAT WAS INSTILLED INTO HIS BROTHERS AND SISTERS. THAT KINDNESS, GENTLENESS, SENSE OF HUMOR, THE TWINKLE IN HIS EYES AND THAT WONDERFUL LAUGH. THE LOVE OF FAMILY...UNFORGETTABLE HE IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE AND TRULY LOVED BY SO MANY. THERE IS ONE HELLUVA FERRIE REUNION HAPPENING IN HEAVEN RIGHT NOW AND UNTIL WE SEE YOU AGAIN UNCLE JEROME... LOVE ALWAYS AND FOREVER. GIVE MY DAD A HUG FROM ME...I MISS HIM.

I have called Jerry my friend for many many years. He was one of the nicest people I have ever known. Rest in peace Jerry You have earned it.

Heaven has gotten one of the most respected and loved gentle souls I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. It was nice to have understanding manager. He really was a second father figure for a lot of us at Rockwell Collins. I am so sorry for loss!
