Very sad to have learned of Dr. Harriman's passing. The Harrimans were customers, and I had many long telephone conversations with Mrs. Harriman about their travels and many other topics. She enjoyed visiting with my husband when he would respond to a call at their home, and often they communicated in German to one another since he is from Austria, and she spoke German fluently. They enjoyed sharing stories of various places in Europe where they had both traveled. Although we didn't have as much contact with Dr. Harriman, we know their love for one another was unmistakable... We know they are now united, and will dearly miss them in our community.

I purchased my first home in Cedar Rapids directly across the street from Dr. and Mrs. Harriman. How lucky I was to have known them both. Dr. Harriman was always eager to discuss his most recent tool acquisition-sometimes a gardening tool, sometimes a home improvement gadget. He helped me engineer and build a retaining wall and it still stands today. Helene shared her love of plants and gardening. Many of her plants still bloom in my perennial garden today. Together we planned and planted a perennial garden at Franklin Middle School that, for several years, was tenderly nurtured and appreciated by the neighborhood. Although I saw them infrequently after moving from the neighborhood I'll greatly miss knowing they're working in their yard on the busy street across from the School. Sincerely, Trina Heath

As a new Warrensburg, Mo resident in 1996 Ms. Harriman and I became friends. She shared many of her flowers with me as we established a new home here. We found we had some of the same interest and from my home town of Brookfield, MO she knew of the Alexander's who had a Photograph shop there years ago. As I did not know exactly of her passing, but had inquired and found of she had passed away. I did not always get to talk with Dr. Harriman as he was busy or waiting for her in the car while she shopped. Both will be missed from our community. Prayers and Blessings, Jerry and Darlene Young

No heart breaks alone for God is always near. When a prayer is whispered God is always there to hear. When sorrow's overwhelming, He comforts tenderly. A single tear never falls that he does not hear.(Psalms 65:2) Sorry for your loss.
