Dear Mrs. Morgan, Sarah & Betsy, So sorry to hear that Dr. Morgan is no longer by your sides in this world. He was one of the kindest people ever, & I truly enjoyed working for him so many years ago at the Anesthesiologists' office. He could brighten up the room (& my day!) whenever he came in to "check things out". I wish you comfort in this very sad time.

Sarah and family, On behalf of the UAB Division of Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology, I send sincere condolences. Your family will be in thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Dr. Lou Bridges, Division Director

Betsy and Family, All of us at Systek were saddened to hear of your loss. Please know how very sorry we are. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of sadness. Larry, LuGene and all of Systek.

My condolences to the family. Dale was a bright, caring and giving alumnus of Coe College. We were honored to present him with the Alumni Award of Merit in 1997 for his outstanding career, contributions to society and loyalty to the college. I cherish the memories of Dale and Louise attending various reunions and events for Coe through the years. My prayers go out to the Morgan family.

Dale was a valued friend and 1944 classmate at Cedar Rapids Franklin. He was an outstanding student that was always helpful in explaining the mysteries of natural science. We send condolence to Dale's family.

My sincere sympathies to you all in the loss of your dear husband and father. May God comfort and console you as you begin to mourn Dale's death. Please know the whole congregation at Westminster is holding you in prayer.

It is with heavy heart that I post these condolences to Louise and their two daughters and their families. Dale Morgan, MD, was a great doctor and one of the first Board-Certified Anesthesiologists in Cedar Rapids. He was a very decent and kind human being, and a loyal friend. It was Dale, and Raymond Shank, MD (who passed away several years ago) that brought me to Cedar Rapids to be their partner in 1980. Initially, we did intensive care as well as anesthesia, and this and other partnerships evolved into what is today Linn County Anesthesiologists, PC. Dale was reliable, practical, calm in stressful situations, and always put the patient’s best interests first. If any type of electrical or mechanical device failed in the OR, Dale was the go-to man. As a life-long Ham radio enthusiast, he could jerry-rig practically anything to work. He told me once that this skill came in very handy in Africa, where he helped train residents to give anesthesia several years after he retired, often using outdated equipment. Dale was always ready to offer a funny story or little joke, which usually fell flat. These stories became known in the OR as “Morgan jokes”. Although some were a bit corny and others were slightly more risque’ than you’d expect from an upstanding citizen like Dale, his jokes were actually a delight we all looked forward to. One of his best stunts was at the Cardiac Surgery Team Party when he retired. He set a glass of water on the podium and said he was going to do something he had always wanted to do. He had someone page him, and while the pager was making it’s familiar offensive ring, he dropped it into the glass of water, as the beeping noise gradually muffled and went silent - to the great laughter and applause of all the doctors and nurses present! That was the essence of the man, sincere and competent, but still a real pleasure to be around. He will be greatly missed by the Medical Community and all who knew him.

Condolences to Louise, Sarah and Betsy...We shared so many happy memories with you all over the years, words don't adequately address nor capture them . Dale was a wonderful human being, a great physician, husband, father and incredibly interesting man, a very decent and warm person and we will miss him. Keith enjoyed him and I know the boys did too, from ice skating to making homemade ice cream to our New Years and Christmas Eve celebrations and visits to the state parks. Many happy memories of Dale and the Morgan family. God bless him .
