Carole was born on October 13, 1934 in Chicago the daughter of William and Josephine Hacker Scherwat. She graduated from the University of Illinois in 1956 and was a substitute teacher in the Cedar Rapids School System and later worked at Rockwell-Collins. On February 23, 1957 she was united in marriage to Lenos Garrah Muret in Chicago. He passed away in 2009.

She and her husband Garrah traveled domestically and internationally. She volunteered and was a former member of the St. Luke’s Auxiliary, the Cedar Rapids Community Theater and enjoyed dance, the fine arts, the symphony as well as being an accomplished pianist.

An avid reader and writer, she kept her kids up to date through letters and news clips, well before the internet took hold. Her son Don especially appreciated the sports stories she clipped from the Gazette about his beloved Cubs and the Hawkeyes. Her youngest son Bob, a guitar player, would receive clips in the mail about some of his favorite rock groups.

Carole was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
