Hilda H. Goldsmith, 97, of Muscatine, formerly of Martelle, passed away, Friday, August 21, 2015 at the SunnyBrook Assisted Living, Muscatine, Iowa.

Private Services will be held at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with Chaplain Don Johnston officiating. Burial will be Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are with Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Survivors include her two sons, Steven (YunHui) Goldsmith of Colfax, Brian (Jane) Goldsmith of Treynor; two daughters, Karlyn (Gene) Logel of Muscatine and Gayle (Stan) Roberts of Bettendorf, special nephew, Dan (Mary) Levsen of Clarence; also surviving are five grandchildren, Peggy (John) Goldsmith-Gastaldo, Cynthia (Rob) Brcka, Adam Goldsmith and special friend, Theresa Kramer, Lindsey (Chris) Ward and Kelsey McCauley; three great grandchildren, Britney and Trenton Brcka and Harper Ward, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard in 2005, son Dennis in 2008, three brothers and a sister.

Hilda Helena Levsen was born September 2, 1917 in Clarence, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Amanda (Lorenzen) Levsen. Hilda married Richard C. Goldsmith on February 7, 1943 at Clarence, IA. Hilda was a homemaker and helped Richard on the dairy farm near Martelle for many years. She was a member of Martelle Methodist Church, enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting and she and Richard were avid square dancers. The joy of Hilda’s life was her family. 

A memorial fund has been established in her name.
