Uncle Vernon was a great uncle making us laugh when we visitedShow him as young nieces and nephew. Your house was always fun - I remember his chocolate covered frozen bananas! So good and he was so proud of his treat. Showed me so much love when I stayed with them while at my first job in Cedar Rapids, so appreciated them both. I will cherish the memories and sending my prayers and thoughts to Julie, David, Sandy and their families. Love, Sharon, Luke and family

We are so very sorry for your loss.

My sincerest condolences. I was blessed by Vern's comforting personality and love of baking. I pray his loved ones feel the presence of Jesus and that angels are surrounding you all.

We are sad to note the passing of Vernie, our cousin. We have fond memories of reunions when uncles, aunts and cousins would play ball, picnic and joke around together. To his family we extend wishes of comfort and hope through Heavenly Father's plan of happiness that families can be together forever. We rejoice in the universal resurrection through our Savior Jesus Christ. We will see you when our big Akers family is all together again.
