Bob, I am so sorry to hear of Bert's passing. I am incredibly grateful for the time we had together. Of particular pleasure were the afternoons we were able to sit on the porch at Cottage Grove. I loved that girl so much! We were blessed to have her and boy was she blessed to have you. My condolences to your whole family, Mary Ann

Randy and Sally we are so sorry for your loss, it is hard to lose a mother. Her memories will live for ever in your hearts. Wishing you peace and comfort at this difficult time. Alfred and Hiyam Freiha

Randy, Sally and Family, Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers. It is never easy to lose one's family member, but we hope this immediate sorrow will soon be replaced by all the wonderful memories.

I moved to Iowa in 1976 and joined the local branch of AAUW.. I remember Bert for her gracious welcome to the group. I loved her smile and sense of humor and the way she treated people. She had an infectious sense of joy about life that she shared with those around her. May she rest in peace and may her family have nothing but fond memories of her life well lived. Sincerely, Kathy Conley

Bob and family: We're so sorry for your loss. We remember Bert from LCTA. She was so nice and friendly. Joel and Amy

Bob, Rick and Randy - Ditto what Liz said. I'll never forget all those times we spent with you. God Bless you all and I'll bet Bert is already trying to plan a bridge game with mom and dad. Julie

Oh my gosh . . . the memories of Bert and the times we all shared as families and friends. Saturday night bridge games with Mom & Dad and Bert & Bob -- and occasionally being allowed to play with you all. Summer cookouts at one or the other of our homes. New Year's celebrations that included Bob & Bobbie Doty -- and all the kids. It wasn't New Year's Day without Mom's turkey noodle soup and the football games. I remember Bert sitting with me at a Washington HS game and explaining what a first down was. And helping out at your popcorn/peanut/cotton candy stand at the All Iowa Fair. Many of my best childhood memories include your family. Please know that I am sending you much, much love and prayers. "Lizzie"

Dear Mr Davison & family - Please accept my condolences on the passing of your lovely wife & mother. God Bless you all. Sincerely, Andy Weaver, Monroe School (1964-1967).

I remember BERT in AAUW days..she was so dynamic and I so enjoyed her! Working with her was so inspiring!! I remember being pregnant with my third child when she called me one day saying " this might be a silly time to ask you this" my mind was racing trying to guess what she was going to ask me..was it to be on a newly formed committee for AAUW or what..it was a simple request but she was concerned I was too busy with the little ones..always so considerate and this is the prettiest picture of her. I am so sorry for your loss!!! She was amazing..everyone wanted to be like her!! Strong..dedicated to a cause and organized with a huge dose of loveliness....Sally Kopecky

Dear Bob, Randy, Rick and family - so sorry to read that Bert passed away. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. What a great lady she was! She was such a friend to me when my "Bro" and I knocked around and got into mischief (occasionally). She was like a second mom during our U of I years and beyond. A cheerleader, teacher, and friend throughout my years of knowing her. All our love. God bless you all. Dave & Kris
