I would like to extend my condolences to Sharla's family. She helped me several years with the American Cancer Society's Daffodil project doing data entry, taking and filling orders, and miscellaneous tasks. She was always such a positive, good person. I really appreciated her extending her friendship to me earlier this year when I was going through a difficult time helping my parents. I will keep the last time we had coffee together in my heart.

On behalf of all of Gems of Hope Daffodil Committee, our sympathies in hearing of Sharla's passing. I have been involved with Sharla at the Daffodil Days with the American Cancer Society and last year with Hope Blooms with Gems of Hope. She was such an asset to the success of the campaign. We will miss her smile and gentle nature. Beth Hammell

Clyde, Julie, Todd and your families, My sympathies to you in Sharla's passing. Looking at your pictures, I see her in all of you. You are truly blessed. A beautiful lady, (inside and out), and now an angel.

Dear Clyde: I am so sorry to read about Sharla. In fact, it set me back. I treasure my old friends and expect them to be around forever. I know it sounds "silly" but that is the way I like it. I always saw Sharla as a bright ray of sunshine, always positive, never a discouraging word...always kept the corners of her mouth turned upward...and always saw issues as a non problem..."we'll make it work" kind of a lady. I haven't seen either of you in quite a while but believed that one day our paths would merge again in good friendship. Today, I viewed all of the photos here on line and re-lived the "good friendship" feeling. It felt good. Thank you for sharing those. In closing, mayI wish you peace in your heart Clyde and also to your family. I send the kindest regards at all times. Just Mary Ames, Marion (and Marion Band Booster shopper at Linn Candy many years ago...do you remember?)

Dear Clyde, Todd, Sharon and family, So sorry to hear of dear Sharla's passing . She always was so kind and a gentle soul , even if i not knowing her well. My deepest sympathy to you all and may your hearts be lifted with all of the great remembrance of her Life and Times.. Peace be with you....and with Sharla in the palm of GUS! (God , Universe, Spirit) Amen.

Clyde, I recall first meeting Sharla when she entered your life. She always had a warmth about her and a gentle, caring nature. Though her life has ended much too soon, I know all around her were blessed as she progressed from herself being a young adult, to a parent and a grandparent. Clyde, best friend, I feel the grief with you.

Clyde, Todd, Sharon, Julie and all. We were shocked to have just learned of Sharla's untimely passing. Though the miles physically separate us , we send our deepest sympathy, thoughts and prayers to you all in this challenging time. With deepest sympathy Dave and Pam

Clyde, Julie, and Todd - May the memory of Sharla comfort you; and the sympathy of friends and extended family sustain you in your hour of sorrow.

Clyde and family, So sorry for your loss. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.

Clyde, so sorry for your loss. It is difficult to know what to say at a time like this. I was always grateful to Sharla and you for making me feel at home when I first moved to Cedar Rapids. Take care.
