My prayers and deepest sympathy go to the Thing family and to the close friends of Nicole. I am currently a student at Clarke University, and although I did not know Nicole well, I did have a class with her, and noticed her involvement on Clarke's campus. She was a gentle and kind soul. I was deeply saddened to hear of her sudden passing. My heart aches for you, her family. The loss of a loved one is always sad, but in the case of such a young and promising person, it is doubly hard to bear. You are in my prayers. With deepest sympathy, Maggie May

I will be praying for your family and Nicole in this difficult time. Throughout my years at Regis and Xavier, I always noticed that Nicole was kind to everyone she interacted with and had a smile on her face. May God give you strength and comfort during this time.

Nicole was a year above me at Regis, Xavier and most recently Clarke, and all of my memories of her are filled with her kindness. Coming to a university without any of my classmates and being able to see Angela Pasker and Nicole's familiar faces in the hallways made the scary transition to college a little easier. Thank you Nicole, for your smiling face in an unfamiliar place, you will not be forgotten. She will be missed here at Clarke. Sending all my prayers to the family in this difficult time.

Please know that the Thing Family members are being prayed for <3 I will always remember our time shared carpooling and sharing delicious treats while going to Regis. 2 Samuel 22:33 It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.

Sending my prayers and condolences to your family and for Nicole. Sharing 13 years of Catholic Education with Nicole provided many opportunities to share in her kind spirit and warm heart. She epitomizes what it meant to be a member of the Xavier community, one that is greatly saddened by her passing. May you find peace in this difficult time, and remember all the lives Nicole touched in a positive way.

Nicole and I attended school together since Kindergarten, and throughout that time she always managed to spread positivity and warmth with her presence. It was an honor to know her for so long, and the memory of her is one that will not soon be forgotten. Nicole's presence in my life, as well as the lives of the rest of our classmates, was truly a blessing. I pray that all who knew Nicole can find strength in this difficult time.

I saw Nicole in the best way! I was blessed to be her CNA class Instructor this summer and during our clinicals she spent every moment with all the residents kindly listening and smiling and loving what she was doing ! She was an inspiration to all and My prayers are with her family and friends.

Anne - My deepest sympathies. No parent should ever have to lose a child. Though I did not know Nicole, just looking at her picture she looks just like you and I sure you raised her to be a wonderful Christian woman. May your faith keep you strong and bring peace eventually, knowing that she is in God's presence experiencing wonders which we cannot imagine. Our prayers for you and your family.

Anne, Jeff, Andrew and Jessica - We are so sorry about the unfortunate, sudden passing of your wonderful Nicole. She had so much energy, and was so gracious, fun and always had a smile. She excelled in many things at Xavier, including Speech and Drama. We all enjoyed seeing her perform and participate in many school activities. Despite the terrible pain of losing your precious daughter and sister, we pray that God will comfort you and help you through this sad time. We are all so blessed that Nicole was born and lived among us, and gave us so much of herself, even at the time of her passing. May she now rest in God's eternal peace. All our love to you and your extended family.

So many years have passed and I can remember that adorable little brown eyed baby girl. I still have the Christmas picture of all three of them reading. Shock and sadness fill me and my mother. It is reassuring to know that her grandfathers met her at heaven's gate.

Nicole and I became very close during my freshmen year (her sophomore) year at Xavier. I never will forget our trips to McDonalds to get shamrock shakes that year and our shopping trips. She was one of the sweetest people I have ever met and always smiling. Even though we grew apart I will always remember her smile as we passed in the hallways. My prayers and thoughts are with the our family during this hard time.

I remember hanging out with Nicole in daycare during elementary school. Never have I met someone that was so kind to everyone. Her smile would always bring joy to those around her. I will be praying for you all and Nicole during this difficult time. May God bless you and give you strength.

Dear Anne and Family-We are so deeply sorry to hear of Nicole's passing. The loss of such a beautiful, young soul is heartbreaking. May you find comfort and strength as you walk through this most difficult time. Peace to Nicole and peace to you and your family. You are in our prayers.

We did not know Nicole, but I knew her mother and she must have been a delightful young lady. Now our God holds her gently and lovingly. May He also bring peace, comfort and strength to her family.

Jeff, I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prays are with you and your family.

Dear Anne, Jeff, Jessica and Andrew, Such sorrow in learning of Nicole's passing and yet we thank God for her presence of mind and internal faith in preparing the life giving gifts of her organs to so many others. Many lives will reflect the passion she had and her spirit will live on through the people she touches this way. May God bless and magnify her gift. May God cradle you all in his arms and gentle you through this difficult time. Only He knows her peace and joy in Heaven, we trust that she is there. We cherish our memories of you three kids in our home while Anne had her cochlear implant years ago. We reminisce about Andrew wanting 'extra beef' and the anticipation of popcorn and malts after dinner, Nicole curled up in my lap to read books in the evening. Smiles and laughter all around the house those days as you all brought sunshine into our home. You remain in our prayers in the days and weeks ahead. May you recognize God's presence in your daily lives. With great love and sympathy.

Jeff - I'm very sorry you've lost your daughter so unexpectedly.

Anne, Bobbie, and family, I'm so sorry to hear this news. I remember the few times I babysat that Nicole was a very sweet girl. I'll be praying for all of you. I'm picturing her Grandpa Ken welcoming her with a huge hug. Love to you all. Bridgit

Ann and Jeff - As I write this condolence I am listening to I Can Only Imagine by MercyMe. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. May Peace be in your heart.

Anne and family...words cannot describe how heartbroken I am for you all. Sending prayers and thoughts to you all in this time of unimaginable sorrow. May the Lord wrap his arms around you all and comfort you.

On occasion the brightest bulb no longer shines. Nicole was a bright bulb, an agile mind, a hard-working spirit, committed to Christ and so capable in all things. That bulb shines bright in memory and heart. We pray for family and friends, that they may be comforted in a time of unfathomable sorrow. Prayer is the most powerful consolation we can provide and it will lift our heavy hearts as well. It is very difficult to celebrate a life extinguished so young, as the future promised and beckoned. But we are called to live each day to the fullest and can celebrate that Nicole answered that call. May all the angels, Saints, holy men and holy women gather Nicole into God's eternal Grace. And may God Bless the memory of Nicole Thing.

Ann I am so sorry to hear of Nicole's passing may God be with you and your family and friends my thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time

Jeff and Anne I am truly sorry for your loss. My God Bless you and watch over you both in this most difficult time.

I have known Nicole since Kindergarten. We went to the same daycare for all of elementary school and spent a large amount of time together playing. She never said a negative word about anyone and persevered through many struggles. I will always remember her sweet smile and kind personality. She will be in my prayers and not forgotten any time soon. Rest in Peace, Nicole. You are loved and missed.

I am truly sorry to hear about Nicole. She was such a nice person, and while I didn't talk to her extensively, she always had a smile on her face and always seemed to brighten the space that she was in. I never heard her say a mean thing to anyone, she was so kind. I will be praying for her and for all of you. May God give you strength in this time.
