I met Carl at my sister Susan and Carl's son Cal's wedding. When I moved to Tucson, AZ, Carl called and invited me to his favorite steakhouse. It was hard moving from Iowa but Carl made me feel welcome and a little less homesick. It was a simple act of kindness but one I'll always remember. My thoughts and prayers go out to Cal and the family.

I wish to express my condolences upon Carl's death, to his family and especially to my uncle, Cal and aunt, Sue. I want you to know I am thinking of and praying for you and your family and am sending a hug from the West Coast!

Carl was a fine man, I knew him from the Villages at Marion. For the last 4 years plus I looked forward to seeing him and Ion at the dining table at breakfadst time. He always had a smile and was so upbeat. Even the day before he went to the hospital you would not have known he was as sick as he was. He was the most upbeat person I know. I know I've learned a lot from him. I know he is in heaven saying hi to everyone. May God bless you Carl, you made it wonderful to come to the Villages. God be with you! Carol and all

I did not have many opportunities to visit with Carl but I always found him to be a soft spoken and humble man. He was kind and courteous. My sister, Sue Murdock, spoke very highly of him whenever his name came up. I wish to offer my condolences to all of the family members. I know he will be missed by many. God bless you and may His peace fill your days, Cathy and Jim
