Margaret M. Wilson, 98, of Cedar Rapids died Wednesday July 23, 2014 at her home after a short illness. Services at 1:00 PM on Monday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 2 to 7 PM on Sunday.

Survivors include her husband Melbourne “Mike”, a daughter Roberta Brandt and her significant other Scott Dirks of Monticello, a sister Ina Horan of San Antonio, Texas and a brother John Pafford of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Krystal (Michael) Parker, Ben (Erin) Detweiler, David, Shawn (Myrna) and Derek Swenson; five great grandchildren Everett Parker, Aiden Detweiler, Micaella, Hailey and Shayna Swenson. She was preceded in death by a daughter Sheryl Bartlett and three brothers Jim, Charlie and Frank.

Margaret was born on March 1, 1916 in Lancaster, Wisconsin the daughter of Wesley and Laura Schaffer Pafford. She graduated from the Madison Business College in Madison, Wisconsin. Margaret married Melbourne “Mike” Wilson on June 18, 1943 in Phoenix, Arizona. She and her husband were co-owners of Wilson Motorcycle Sales for over 28 years. 
Margaret was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church, the American Motorcycle Association, the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa, Motor Maids of America and in 1958 was awarded a trophy for the “Most Popular and Typical Girl Rider”. Margaret was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her. A memorial fund has been established.
