Memorial
Logan W. Blake, 17 of Cedar Rapids, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 1, 2014. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 4, 2014 from 3 to 7 PM at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 5, 2014 at First Assembly of God with Pastor Jim Coyle officiating. Burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Logan was born to Candice (Candy) Blake and Mark Blake on June 10, 1997 in Columbus, Ohio. Logan greeted everyone with a mile-wide smile and a huge bear hug. He would have been a senior at Washington High School this year. Logan enjoyed biking, power lifting, disc golf and playing Frisbee. He worked at Cottage Grove Place as a dietary tech. He was taken from us much too soon, but his spirit, quest for adventure, and love for life will be with us always.
Those left to honor Logan include his mother, Candice (Candy) Blake, his father Mark and step-mother Lisa Blake; his loving brother Hunter; grandparents, William and Ruth Mund of Cedar Rapids, Stella and Fred Meyers of Newark, OH, Betsy Schmuck of Cedar Rapids, and Carl and Joyce Schmuck of Eau Claire, WI; girlfriend, Brianna McPherson; best friend, David Bliss; special companion his dog, Sadie Blake; numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, classmates, and neighbors.
The family is so grateful for all of the wide-ranging rescue effort involving an urban search and rescue team, a camera-mounted tractor and land search teams made up of police, fire and city employees and countless volunteers. A special thanks to Pastor Jim Coyle, Pastor Tim Carter and Officer Anne Deutmeyer.
