To all of Pam's family. I met Pam at Washington high school. I was having problems and was sent to peer group. I guess you could say Pam saved my life. She got me out of rut and had me concentrate on my art abilities. So her walls in her office were wallpapered with my art. She was a great person to talk to because she actually listened. I also went to Pam as an adult when I was having bad depression, and again she was a great help. I was shocked while doing a search to find someone to talk to and found that she had passed. Pam was a great help to many and will truly be missed by many, and may God let her smile shine down from the heavens and let it warm our hearts. I am so sorry for you loss. Ken

I am so sorry for you loss. I will keep you in my prayers always.

My heart goes out to you during this difficult time. Pam and I were classmates and graduated together in 1971 from Manson High School. One memory I have of Pam is ... when her & I were in elementary school, her family and mine drove the same type of car (& color, too). Both of us would talk about this to each other:) Pam and I did not run around much with each other in school; however she always showed me respect, caring, and compassion, which I still remember and makes me smile:) My heart breaks for her now. I pray our Good Lord will hold you and your family in His arms as you all grieve. Teddy (Nimke) Drost

Steve and family, I was so sorry to hear of Pam's passing. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Mary Stein

Stacey, So sorry for your family's loss. May God's peace be with you all at this time of grieving.

Dear Steve and family, I am so sorry to hear of Pam's passing. I know this must be a very difficult time for all of you. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Steve and family, I am so sorry for your loss! Though I have not seen Pam for years, I have so many fond memories of attending social events with you! Pam had the greatest laugh and smile and a very warm, inclusive way about her that always made me feel very welcome to the group! She was an amazing woman that had such a positive impact on many, many lives! She will be missed by many! My thoughts are with you!

To all of Pam's family - I met Pam when I was a student at Washington. Her Peer Group was one of the most meaningful things in my life in high school. I learned so much and it has stayed with me my whole life. I often pass on Pam's advice to my kids as it was so valuable and made such a difference. But more than the words, it was her actions, compassion, and ways to gain connection with others that are life lessons that I won't ever forget. Year later, I was blessed to come back to Pam for some counseling sessions when struggling with things in my adult life. I will NEVER forget her stories and advice as it was life changing once again! I am so very shocked and saddened to hear that she is no longer among us on a daily basis. But I will forever have her in my heart and mind. She made such a difference in my life and in the lives of those she helped and touched. My life was changed for the better because I knew Pam. Much love to you all as you move forward on this new path.

A number of years ago I met Pam when I , too, was a social worker in Cedar Rapids. I had great respect for Pam. Her death is a huge loss for her family, many friends, and our community. With great sadness and sympathy, Dana Ehrhart

My wife, Jan, and I met Pam and Steve through mutual friends when we arrived to CR in 1984. Her free spirited attitude and friendliness made Jan and I most welcome to the area. I remember relaxing times in their Memorial Drive home listening to music and enjoying life. We had not a care in the World.

May you all feel wrapped in Pam's love for all your lives...may you feel her shining spirit each day of your journey...and may you be comforted by the many friends and family members (near and far) who hold the space for you now in this difficult time. I will never forget our adventures together as children, her energetic spirit, and her mischievous, twinkling eyes.

Dear Steve and family, Sorry for your loss and my thoughts and prayers are with you. As I was reading Pamela's story I had to smile...only knowing Pamela and you for such a short time, i'm honored to say she was my friend....When I was putting up the Christmas trees and decorating we had a Barbara Streisand Christmas cd on, and Pamela was singing and trying to dance with us!Her love of music and singing shined through. Cindy Hudson( Promise House)

I have been seeing many pictures of Pam these past few days. From a small baby in her Grandfathers arms, to a vibrant woman married with two grown children. In these pictures is an accumulation of millions of stories. Some forgotten, some always on the surface. Pams life was a story. We were written not only to hear and tell stories, but we are a story. It's my hope that you keep sharing her life story. May the next generation come to know Pam through story and learn to love her as we all did.

Keegan and family, Sending our thoughts and prayers to your family during this difficult time. Your Mom sounds like an amazing woman. Michael and Michele

Dear Steve and family, Although we have never met, Steve I feel I almost know you. I am a very dear friend of Gary and Linda Recker and also of Mary Ann Shaughnessy. All have told me what wonderful people you are and when I see the smiling picture of Pam on this website I can understand why she and Linda had such a great friendship. Linda always had a similar big smile when she talked about Pam. It seems Pam had that effect on many. If I may, I'd like to offer, on Linda's and Gary's behalf, my sincere condolences I pray your healing will be swift and your memories bright. Darlene

O'Neil family, may God grant you peace and comfort both now and in the days to come.

Steve, Keegan, Connor, Kristine and Stacey, I am so sorry about Pam. She was a wonderful, wonderful person. I was fortunate to know her and have her as a friend. My prayers and thoughts are with all of you and please find comfort with all your memories. Kristine and Stacey, you were the best sisters anyone could have so take solace in that. May GOD be with you during this time. All my love! Pat Habbena

To the O'Neil family, I am sorry to hear of Pam's passing. She was a great person and a great soccer player ( Magic women's soccer team) and a great coach. Please accept my condolences.

I was so sorry to hear of Pam's passing. What a beautiful person. She helped my family and myself through so much. I was visiting my mother at Garnett and she introduced me to Pam. I knew that I had met her before but I just couldn't remember. I know now. I will never forget her and her words of encouragement. My thoughts and love are with you all.

Mr. O'Neil and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you are comforted by wonderful memories. Pam was my soccer coach at Washington 84-86. I was a horribly untalented athlete but she made me part of the team. Often on spring days I think of how much fun it was. Whenever I think of her I smile. You are in my thoughts and in my prayers. Teresa Martinek

Steve and family, no words can express the void that we all feel with the passing of Pam. She was one of the most intelligent, fun, loving and sincere women I have ever known, I was so privileged to have grown up with her and to have been a part of her life for a short time. I know nothing was more important to her than her family and she will love you forever. You are all so fortunate to have had her as part of your lives for the time she was able to be on this earth with us. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
