John Adamek Jr, 84, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa died Friday, Dec 5, 2014 at Mercy Hospital. Funeral Service will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories beginning at 11am on Wednesday, December 10. Visitation for John will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home Tuesday, December 9, from 4-7pm. Burial to follow at a later date.
John was born on February 10, 1930 in Chicago IL. The son of John Adamek Sr. and Veronica Adamek. John was a retired Carpenter that had worked for R.W. Rinderknecht, was a Superintendent at O.F. Paulson and completed his career by working out of the Carpenters Hall for companies like Abell-Howe and Abild. John was an Artist at heart and has created many paintings and sketches over the years. John has a Life Membership with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. John’s hobbies were spending time with his family and friends, painting, hunting, fishing, and enjoying nature.
John is survived by his Grandson Todd Bailey and his wife Terri Bailey, Granddaughter Selina Bailey Brown, Step Son, Dan Mears, Daughter in Law, Jolene Mears, Granddaughters Amanda and Amber Mears and Grandson, Sean Mears. In addition John had six Great Grandchildren and two Great Great-Grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Mae Adamek, his second wife Patricia Adamek, his daughter Charlotte Bailey and his son Michael Adamek .
