To the Fleckenstein Family . . . what a huge loss involving such a great man! My thoughts and prayers are going out to the entire family and he will be missed by all who knew Mr. Fleckenstein. May God bless you all during this most difficult time! Randy Krejci in Cedar Rapids

I'm so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you in this time of sorrow. I truely wish I could of made it down to the service, Uncle Tom was a great man. God Bless you all.

Tom will always be a brother to me. I was the eldest of three children. Tom came into our lives through our father. I felt from that minute all throughout that Tom was my older brother. I am grateful to have spent substantive time with Tom a couple of years ago when he stayed with Katie and Brad in Castle Rock, Colorado. My brother, Bill, and his wife and I were invited for several meals before Tom moved back home to Cedar Rapids. A beautiful man to remember always.

I stand at your door... sniffing to see if your in there so we can come see you. Mom says your not at home anymore that you went to Heaven to rest and see your friends and family and now live there for ever more. And that the Lord was waiting to see you at his door. We want you to know we miss you.And are sending prayers for your family to get through this tough time. Your children are just as sweet and special are you were. your neighbor... Teddy and Mom

We lost a great man. From the "ring in the sand" to "wedding bus adventures", he had a heart of gold and the patience of a saint. Many fond memories of river rats, neighbors and close friends. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone he touched, but most important to his five wonderful children with whom we have shared many good times in years past. He will be missed. I love you all.....Sweet-P.

My heartfelt condolences to all of you. Your dad was a sweet and special man. I last saw him at my mom's funeral in January and was touched by his support and love for each of us. I know you will miss him and pray the Lord will comfort and keep each of you through the days and weeks ahead. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Very sorry to hear about the loss of Mr. Fleckenstein. Our families have seemingly been connected through the neighborhood, school and sports for over 50+ years. I remember Mr. Fleckenstein showing up and "quietly" supporting all of our school activities and games, often times sitting next to my father. I also remember how special we all felt when we got to ride on a "Charter Coaches" bus. Please except our deepest sympathy from the entire Hidder family.

To the Fleckenstein Family, Our thoughts are with you at this time of loss. I remember our families being intertwined for 40+ years in the neighborhood and at each step of the way at Grant Wood, McKinley and Washington schools. Mr. Fleckenstein was always there to support his kids and our various sports teams. It was an honor riding on the "Charter Coach" bus! Many many great memories! He touch so many lives in the CR community.

Chris and family, Your father was a young boy who I looked up to at the early age of 9 as he allowed me to play baseball with hs team. Tom was a true leader and and was an inspiration to me and many other young men. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Tom was very special to me and so many others in the CR community.

Jeff and family so sorry to hear about your father's passing. As a neighbor of many years ago, I remember your Dad outside mowing when we would ride our bike's past. He always was so friendly. Thoughts and prayers are with you. Hold on to the peace that passes all understanding.

I spent a lot of time working and sweating with Tom at the Pirie farm in Marion in the early 50s. His humor made the work more tolerable. He was one of the persons who sold me on going to Iowa State. My thoughts and prayers go to his family. Jerry Bullis, Deland, Florida

Our families spent some great times together on the river and the adult getaways to. Keystone. Both your parents were people we not only loved spending time with but admired. So glad our paths crossed when we moved back to Cedar Rapids in the 70's. Wally, Tom and John had so much fun coaching football together. Always cherish the good times. Our family sends their love and prayers to all of you. Mary and Wally

Just heard about Tom. All of you and I were so very fortunate to have been close to him and when i pass away, (being 90 years of age) Tom is the first one I want be with for eternity, so we can continue our duck hunting, skiing and buddy relationship. As you know, Tom was one of the original stockholders, and helped me in many other ways, in the founding of Keystone Resort, where Jane and I are spending the balance of our lives. I loved Tom and was sorry we never had the chance to be together as his beautiful life was expiring. Jane and I wish all of you the best. Bill Bergman

I am sorry to hear about Tom's death. My father was one of his good friends. I remember family outings with your family when we lived in Cedar Rapids years ago. I read the obit and did not know they had so much in common. Guess that was not by accident. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. Julie Steele
