Charlotte ...just found out about Cleo. I am so sorry about your loss. Wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed growing up next door to Cleo and your family on Parkview Ct. Those were some wonderful times despite the Wagners next door. Take care...rick

Charlotte and Family: My thoughts are with you and of course many memories of Cleo and our times together. His attitude and outgoing personality and our discussions about things and people we knew, always led to interesting conclusions. He had a full life and Char you sure knew how to make him look good. :) He will be missed.

Charlotte & family As a fellow insurance representative, I can tell you that Cleo was a true inspiration to many throughout his career. He was one-of-a-kind, a true professional and now a legend. His concern for his clients is what drove him to continue in the business for so many years. He made my day three years ago when my daughter passed away as he came strolling in to her visitation with his walker. What a class act! The insurance community has lost a great one.

Charlotte Edwards and family, we extend our sympathy. Cleo's love and devotion to his family were clues as to the sincere, trustworthy and inspiring friend he would become to us. Cleo was quick to prise , his lovely and talented, Charlotte. We have fond memories of good times. Jim & Arlene Bader, Poet St. Lucie, Fl and Marion, Iowa

When I was a kid, circa 1964, I recall going fishing with Cleo and Douglas. We flew in a sea-plane to a remote cabin in Canada. Once we went to his house and parked in the driveway was a monolithic, 2-door Lincoln Continental. We went into the garage, and there was another, exact same car, same color. He told us he did that so the neighbors would think he was only rich enough to buy one luxury car. Funny guy.

I am so sad to read of Cleo's passing. For many years, I worked for John M. Smith, CEO of CRST International and had the privilege of meeting Cleo - he was an absolute joy to know - just a delight to visit with - such a kind considerate man with a great sense of humor - he is one person in my 25 years of working that I will never forget - and yes, he brought me candy from NW Iowa for Christmas one year - my sincere sympathy to his wife and family!!!

I send my love to you Charlotte and your family. I have such fond memories of the days in the past when we worked together at IE. You two were such fun and so caring. My prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Charlotte, Doug, and Charise, So sorry to hear of Cleo's passing. He was a "bigger than life. character and will be missed in the industry and in Cedar Rapids. He was the first Central Life agent I visited with in the early 60's and I remember still his quest to get even better. He was a real inspiration to many, many people. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Charlotte, Doug, Linda, Hope, Andrea Charise and Family, We were so sorry to see your Father's obituary in today's paper. We had the privilege to know Cleo since living next door to Doug and Linda for over 20 years, and he was a wonderful man. You should be proud of all he accomplished in life as he was a self-made man. Charlotte, he never would have been able to do everything he did without your support and being his strength when he needed it. All of you now have a guardian angel who will watch over you as he will make sure you are still taken care of.

Cleo was such an exceptional representative of his professional and he inspired many of us. He was a very devoted and loyal supporter to Life Underwriters and NAIFA in Cedar Rapids. We all hold him in high regards and will miss seeing him. Please accept my deepest condolences.

Dear Doug and Charise, I was sorry to see your father passed away. Funny, the things we remember about people. Your father was the one who introduced me to lamb. I was visiting you and had dinner (lamb kabobs) at your father's encouragement. Your folks had just had the house remodelled and your dad was doing the grilling. I enjoy lamb to this day and usually think of him when I do. (Strange, huh?) I also remember thinking your folks always brought "a little class" to the old neighborhood. I always thought of your dad as a cool guy. Sorry we can't make it to the funeral, as we have a prior committment. My thoughts are with you though. Jeff Ilten

Mrs. Edwards, Charise, Doug, and families: I am so sorry for your loss. I did not know Cleo, but he and his company handled my parents', (Paul and Mavis Steitzer, now deceased), insurance needs until my mother's death. I knew the name well, because my parents thought so highly of Cleo and they shared that opinion with me. After reading Cleo's obituary, I can see why my parents held him in such high esteem. I will hold you all in my thoughts and prayers. Cherian Steitzer Lautermilch

Charlotte and Family: I was so saddened to see Cleo's passing, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Cleo taught Jeff and I the value of family and country! Charlotte I will never forget you and Cleo dancing at my wedding! God bless you all, Amy Godwin and Jeff Pick Family
