JoAnn Huston, 77, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday March 13, 2024, in her home from an extended struggle with cancer. The family ensured that JoAnn’s last days were spent in her home, and they were present up to the very end. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2204 26th Street NW, Cedar Rapids.
JoAnn is survived by her children, Scott (Rhonda) Huston of Walford, Michelle Bahr and David (Lisa) Huston, all of Swisher, Iowa. Also surviving are her 5 grandchildren, Isaac Bahr, Holly Huston, Gracie Bahr, Bailey Huston, and Scott Huston Jr., and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Huston, her parents, her son-in-law, Randy Bahr, her sisters, Diane Parham, Julie Hammersly and brother, Dale Erickson.
JoAnn was born December 15, 1946, in Duluth, Minnesota, the daughter of Ralph and Claudine (Sutton) Erickson. She married William Robert Huston on May 22, 1965, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. JoAnn was a homemaker. Bill and JoAnn worked together in their cleaning service. This allowed them the opportunity to do a work they enjoyed teaching others about the message of hope from the bible. JoAnn enjoyed music, opera and theater. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, camping and traveling.
