I have known Bernice for 73 years, my entire life. We met at St. James Methodist church when I was a new born. She was friends with my grandparents and my parents. Throughout my life Bernice was a reoccurring figure. She taught Sunday school at church. As an adult, I saw her each time I returned to Iowa to visit my family. At Methwick, she lived next door to my mother. I visited her each time I visited my mom. I enjoyed her friendship so very much. She was kind and friendly. She was always interested in my life. I shared many enjoyable conversations with her over the years. Her friendship over my lifetime has meant a lot to me. I shall miss her. I am so very sorry for the family's loss. May God enclose you in his arms during this time of sorrow.

Bernice was that special kind of friend, that friend that is like family but that you choose for yourself. It takes a unique person that is full of love and nurture to maintain a friendship like Bernice did, one that spanned four generations with my family; through my parents, myself, my children and grandchildren. Bernice was a constant source of love and friendship that has provided a lifetime precious memories. Bernice was the perfect neighbor the competitive but always smiling card player, the hard-working companion on the weekend, camping trips and family vacations. She was at all times gracious appreciative and always genuinely interested in attentive to what was happening in your life. She shared the joys in our lives, and was supportive in times of need My condolences and deepest sympathy to all of those that mourn her loss, I know great memories will keep her alive in your heart

What a wonderful, wonderful person Bernice was! It was my pleasure to have worked with Bernice & Lois at Pierson's in the late 1970s. Always "fixed-up" so nice, always so happy, so friendly. Just another Blessing of God to His earth. She did her job well and I remember her good sense of humor. We had a couple of running jokes that I remember now. What a great loss to her family & friends, but what a huge promotion to her place in Heaven. My sincere condolences to Bernice's family in this time of great loss. May your memories of this outstanding woman help you all through this most difficult time. God Bless you, Bernice, for what you gave to everyone who ever met you and for a life well-lived! -Andy Weaver

My sincere condolences to Bernice’s family. I had the pleasure of making Bernice more beautiful every week by doing her hair for her at the salon at Methwick. She was always so sweet and brought me a little sweet chocolate to her appointment. She was fun to talk to and I admired her “ do it herself” mentality . I will miss our chats for sure… but I’m so very happy heaven gained a wonderful human like Bernice.
