Memorial
Marilyn passed away peacefully from her long journey with Alzheimer’s. She is preceded in death by her loving husband George Chmelicek, parents Edward C. and Ivaloo Rudin, brother and sister-in-law, Cordell and Patricia Rudin, brother-in-laws: Joseph Chmelicek, Vernon Flint and son-in-law, Robert Behounek.
She is survived by children; Linda Behounek of Papillion, NE. and Larry Chmelicek (Sherry Schneekloth) of Fairfax Ia., sister-in-laws, Darlene Chmelicek, Mildred Flint; grandchildren, Randy, Stacie, Jeremy, Megan, Garrett and great-grandchildren, Marissa, Rylee, Harper, Finley, and Stella.
Marilyn was a long time supporter of the El Kahir Shrine Temple, the Cedar Rapids Sokol, and a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. Marilyn will be remembered for her loving devotion to her husband and family. Her beautiful and infectious laugh and smile will be missed.
VISiTATION: Friday, February 16, from 4-7 p.m., at Cedar Memorial
CELEBRATION OF LIFE: Saturday, February 17, 10:30 a.m. at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with interment at Cedar Memorial Mausoleum
In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to the Alzheimer’s Society, the El Kahir Shrine Transportation Fund, or Czech National and Slovak Museum.
