Carmen Fox Jurgensen, 71, of Asheboro passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 at Hospice Home in High Point following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Jurgensen was born November 4, 1946 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  She was a member of Central United Methodist Church where she was an usher for many years. Mrs. Jurgensen worked as secretary for First Baptist Church for 9 years and retired as an Administrative Assistant from Oakhurst Baptist Church after 16 years of service. 

Her passions were gardening, her family, her grandchildren, and her cats.  She also loved her church and church family.  

In addition to her parents George and Fern Kanellis, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Pamela Parker and Melanie Waterman.

She is survived by her husband, Richard “Rick” Jurgensen; son, Blake Jurgensen and wife Heather of Statesville; granddaughter, Kylie Jurgensen of Statesville; and grandson, Braydon Jurgensen of Statesville.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro.  A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Central United Methodist Church, 300 South Main Street in Asheboro with Dr. J.F. Howard, Sr. and Dr. Richard Crider officiating.  Inurnment will be held at a later date at Cedar Memorial Park in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
