Linda Reka Bousek, 73, of Marion, passed away Monday, August 13, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Mass: 10:00 am Friday, August 17, 2018 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. A visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom. Interment will follow the service at St. John’s Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Linda was born in Greeley, Iowa on February 17, 1945 to Earl and Edith (Hook) Morley. She married the love of her life, Joseph Vincent Bousek Jr., on November 23, 1968. Linda worked very hard on the family’s farm until she headed to Cedar Rapids, where she worked at Square D and Sears. When Joe and Linda retired, they moved to Manchester, so Linda could be closer to her sisters. In the end, they decided to move to Marion to be closer to her daughter, Brenda, son-in-law, Josh, and her two grandchildren, Jacob and Anna.
Linda enjoyed making beautiful homemade cards for her family and friends. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, especially at their sporting events and choir performances.
She will be remembered by daughter, Brenda (Josh) Heth; two grandchildren, Jacob and Anna Heth, all of Marion; six sisters, Margie Hatch of North Richland, TX, Leah Pruess of Edgewood, IA, Virginia White of Manchester, IA, Judy (John) Wolter of Maquoketa, IA, Patti (Mike) Wardell of Oelwein, IA, and Marla (Jim) Goranson of Cedar Rapids, IA; brother, Earl (Connie) Morley Jr. of Sparks, NV; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Joe Bousek; her father, Earl Morley; mother, Edith Morley; brothers-in-law, David Hatch, Russell Pruess, and George White; nephew, Doug White; niece, Joni Pruess; and an infant brother and sister.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Palliative Care Program at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
