Joel L. Rusbult, 50 of Cedar Rapids died Wednesday September 13, 2017 at his home. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 2 to 4 PM on Saturday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife Tina; a son Alex Turkettle of Florida, 3 step-daughters Mysti Redwing at home, Jerica Barnett of Tama, Stacey Moore of Seattle, Washington; his parents Donald and Mary Rusbult of Marengo; two sisters Shelly (Armen) Van Scoyoc of Blairstown; Shannon (Dennis Fruendt) Rusbult of Marengo, and 2 grandchildren, He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Don and Bernice Van Dyke and Wilfred and Dorothy Rusbult.
Joel was born on May 2, 1967 in Iowa City the son of Donald and Mary Van Dyke Rusbult. He married Tina Marie Buresh on May 5, 2007 in Cedar Rapids. Joel worked at Amana Refrigeration in assembly for five years.
He enjoyed fishing, the Hawkeyes and Chicago Bears Football, watching horror movies, and working on bikes.
Joel was a wonderful husband, son, father, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A memorial fund has been established in Joel’s name.
