I only met Dick a few years ago; he went to school with my father and we shared an interest in family history. I learned a lot from Dick and always enjoyed dropping in on him when I was in town. Quite a guy, I will miss him.

Just wanting all of the Farley & Smith families to know that all of us Zimmerman’s are with you in spirit. We were in D.C., with Mom & Dad Z, visiting Dave’s family until last night & couldn’t pull off getting Mom Z or us to C.R. by this morning. We luv U all. This weekend, while most our family was together, we discussed many good growing up memories with uncle Dick. A cute one that we all remembered was the “lengthy detail” that uncle Dick put into taking his photos of us all; “just take the photo, uncle Dick”. We love him dearly. The Zimmermans

My uncle Dick was such a kind and positive person. He filled a room with laughter and made every visit with him a good one. He loved to tell the story of tickling my belly when I was a baby and I think it was because he was so delighted to make me laugh. We also loved to talk about geneology, gardens and life in Cedar Rapids when he was a boy and young man. He will be sorely missed.
