In June of 1971, Judi had her son, Michael.  She devoted a lot of her time from then on, making sure her children had what they needed and made sure they learned well while in school.  She volunteered at Emerson Elementary in Marion, helping fifth graders with math, and also helped introduce desktop computers to the second graders in 1982.

When her children were in high school she volunteered with the music band booster program.  Judi also worked for a few years with the Marion Parks Department, Oakland Road HyVee, and volunteered for Mercy Hospital.
