Francis “Frank” Webber, 85, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, March 5, 2017.

Graveside services with military honors will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2017 at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Garden of Tranquility, officiated by Rev. Christopher Podhajsky.

Frank was born October 8, 1931 in Garber, Iowa to Albert and Adeline (Hansel) Webber.  After graduating high school, Frank served honorably in the United States Army as a paratrooper from 1951 until 1953.  He was united in marriage to Josephine Anne “JoAnne” Ferguson on July 2, 1955 at St. Wenceslaus Parish in Cedar Rapids.  To this union, two daughters were born.

Frank was a member of the Cedar Rapids Police Department for ten years, then worked as a foreman for the City of Cedar Rapids for the duration of his career, until his retirement.  He loved camping, fishing, and rooting for the Chicago Cubs.  His family was extremely important to him, and he especially loved playing with his great-granddaughters.  He will be deeply missed by those who loved him.

Frank is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, JoAnne; daughters Rachell Webber (Richard Ward) of Cedar Rapids and Sharron Wehde of Sioux City; grandchildren Beth Webber-Kinley (Doug Reed) of Cedar Rapids; Bradley Wehde (Aimee Crouch) of Kansas City, Missouri; and Alison Wehde of Iowa City; two great-granddaughters: Addi and Emmi; brother Lowell Webber of Marion; sister Shirley (Roger) Waterman of Colesburg; as well as his dogs Cupcake and Sophie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law Carol Webber; and beloved poodle, Ladybug.

Memorials in Frank’s name may be made to the Mercy Hall-Perrine Cancer Center.
