Dear Family-Your dad gave me the name Kristian Darling. As soon as I walked in the kitchen door of 1101 Crestview Dr he would yell “Kristian Darling Hawkeye cup three cubes”. Whenever he took the carpool home from McKinley basketball he would drive us past the homes he had recently painted. He would slam on the brakes to say (23 gallons) (Shell White). Later on in life I loved to come visit and hear the latest gossip in Hollywood and Cedar Rapids from him. The services were lovely today and I’m very sad that a chapter has ended with one of our favorite characters gone. Love you to all! Kristian Darling

Thinking of Michele and all the Hidder Family during this most difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. David, Janet, Darrell, Kathy, Dain, Erin & Kiley

Dear family and friends, please accept my deepest condolences. May God's promises found at Acts 24:15 and Psalms 37:29 bring you comfort during this difficult time.

What wonderful memories we have of Joe and the entire Hidder family! We were at 1108 Crestview Dr for over 20 yrs and relish the neighbors and friends we made there. We are wintering in Arizona and will miss attending the services. Our sincere sympathy and prayers. Bob and Judie Tosh

To all of the Hidder family, our condolences and prayers are with all of you. My dad and Joe shared so many wonderful memories at McKinley High school and we all grew up together as kids. Always cherish the wonderful memories of your Dad and celebrate what he loved. We are thinking of you and the wonderful memories he shared with all of us.

My parents were Alex and Rose Nofal. When Joe owned Joey's drive-in, I rode my bike there to get a half order of French fries for a dime. I found out later he didn't sell French fries by the half order, but did it for me. I was 9 at the time. It is a wonderful memory of a wonderful man.

So sorry to hear the news of Mr. Hidder's passing. My heart goes out to all the Hidder's. I have very fond memories of hanging out and talking sports with Mr. Joe. He certainly loved his sports but his love for family stood out even more. I pray for peace to you all.
