Janette Paula Mowery, 68, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday September 19, 2016 in the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy with her loving family around her. Services: 1:00 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories by Cedar Memorial Certified Celebrant Paula Meyer. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Clarence, her Son, Michael (Angie) Mowery of Ames, Iowa and her daughter, Kelly Mowery of Newton, Iowa, her grandchildren; Mikaela Hickle, Sheryl Floyd, William Floyd, Kaitlyn Mork, Briar Mork and great grandchildren; Mason Floyd and Andyn Mork. Also surviving are her sisters; Patricia Doyle of Florida and Susan Rajtora of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Barbara Stice, brother-in-laws, Frank Rajtora, Tom McNamara, father-in-law, Leo Mowery and mother-in-law, Dorothy Mowery and sister-in-law, Kathleen Mowery.
Janette was born July 6, 1948 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Lorraine (Mylhausen) Phillips. She married Clarence Mowery on December 23, 1967 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Janette was Food Service Manager for the Cedar Rapids School System. She enjoyed going to church, walking and the children in the schools she served. Her greatest was the time spent with her family, grandchildren and friends.
Janette requested casual dress attire for her funeral.
