I met Big E in Cedar Rapids around 1981, right after I quit working at ASP. Eric was a good dude. He lived right down the street from me in Cedar Rapids. Big E and I spent many hours together in the gym and later at Dillion's Dance Hall, where he worked the door. He was a good man and a dear friend. RIP Big E, your friend The Killa

Our thoughts are with you all. We worked with Eric at ASP and have many nice memories to remember. Eric had a real zest for life and loved a good time be it working on his physique, dancing and meeting people, talking about body bldg. sports, and so much more. It isn't always the no. Of breaths one takes but the number of moments that take your breath away. Eric lived his life and accomplished so very much! He spoke of his family so very often! Condolences Jeff Siebels and Sonia

I met Eric in 1996 at the Iowa Mens Reformatory before renamed ASP. He was an Officer and a Gentlemen for sure. Always respected everyone as fellow Officers. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you.

We our thinking of you and your family. We were shocked to here the tragic news.We will try to get together sometime this summer. Flo & Don Gapinski

I got to know Eric first by his many trips into the Marriott for the lunch buffet. He would always take the time to stop and talk about current events, the good ole days, or just anything else on his mind. He always made you feel like he cared and could strike up a conversation with anyone. So much so he came to work part-time here after his retirement because he didn't like not being busy. He was dedicated to service of others and he will be missed greatly. Prayers to the family are being sent.

I had the privilege of working with Eric at Anamosa for many years. He was always respectful, caring, and professional. A great fellow to work with, and I will miss him.

I am devastated to hear this tragic news. Although I did not know Eric personally, I knew of him through Dawn. I am grieving for you and your family and pray for your strength and solace in the days ahead.
