Memorial
Michael Edwin Shedenhelm, 53, of Cedar Rapids died Friday, April 22, 2016 at Heritage Nursing and Rehab.
A memorial service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday at the Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Friday at the Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel. Inurnment with military rites at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include his mother Karmen; two sisters, Cynthia (Tom) Haring and Becky (Garry) Copeland all of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by four nephews and one niece; Tyler, Ryley, and Abby Copeland, Andrew and Christopher Haring, and his good friend Scott Kellogg. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
Mike was born October 15, 1962 in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1981 and later from Iowa State University in 1999. Mike enjoyed hunting, and tinkering with cars. He was active in Toys for Tots and proudly served in the Marine Corps. He especially enjoyed the time spent with his beloved family and friends. His memory will be cherished by all that knew and loved him.
A memorial fund has been established.
