Just found out about our dear Bud. He was our sweet neighbor on Green Valley Dr. He always loved talking outside in the yard about the Hawkeyes or fishing. He always had a smile on his face and so gracious when we had him over for a meal. He said beggars can't be choosey. He would eat whatever we fixed. He was so nice to our 3 children. They would help him mow or shovel sidewalks. He would talk and talk about his grandchildren how proud he was of them and he loved going fishing with them or golfing. It was just too bad they lived so far away, but he made the most of his time with them. He told us he played on the Hawkeye Basketball team. " I said Bud you are too short. " We would just laugh because the guys are all so tall now. We pray for you Bud and your family. Our sweet Bud you will be missed.

Bud, Wayne Kinney, Parnell Proctor & I were the 9 AM foursome at Elmcrest CC back in the 90's. Bud's handicap was the lowest, so he was always giving strokes, though he didn't like it. We had many fine rounds and some not so fine, but the most memorable for me was the day that Bud shot his age, 78, so that must have been back in '92, even though he had a bogey on 17. I would give him a phone call every now and then and he would relate the latest fishing trip with his son, he really enjoyed that, until his hearing got so bad he couldn't hear me talking and never stopped himself. God Bless him, I'll miss him
