Robert Lee Rabus, age 74, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics from a car accident.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy (Martin) Rabus; daughter Karla Resewehr of Marion; four grandchildren, Jaclyn (Brennan) Hawley of Bettendorf, Bryant (Kerri Nolan, special friend) Rabus of Cedar Rapids,  Ashley and Lauren Resewehr of Marion; great grandchild Emery Hawley of Bettendorf; sister Sherylene Quinn of Sunnyvale, CA; sisters-in-law Marge (John) Hasler of Anamosa, Dorothy (Dave) Zimmerman of Monticello; Charlotte (Greg) Lange of Cedar Rapids; brothers-in-law, John (Linda) Martin of Ocala, FL; Tom (Sharon) Martin of Coggon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Krista Rabus, son Terry Rabus and son-in-law, John Resewehr.

Robert Lee Rabus was born June 30, 1941 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Ernest & Lillian (Kaplan) Rabus. On November 26, 1961 he married Nancy Jane Martin at First Presbyterian Church in Monticello, IA. He graduated from Washington High School in 1959. He worked for many years as a medical salesman for Medical Arts Surgical Supply and later on at Heartland Medical. He had many friends and customers that he called upon and cared deeply for.

Bob loved life and lived for his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed Iowa Hawkeye Football, Iowa Men’s and Women’s Basketball, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and being with his friends and family. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend with a delightful sense of humor. He will be missed dearly by those closet to him.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations may be given in his name to the family.

The family would like to especially thank the 5th floor SNICU staff at the University of Iowa Hospital Clinics for the care given to Bob.
