I just learned today that Ron passed away and wish to extend my sympathy to all family members. I grew up in Kenwood with Ron, was a member of the same Boy Scout Troup and, also was a classmate of his sister Carolyn from elementary school through high school. Ron worked on remodeling projects for us at Marion Mixer Co. and also on homes we owned in Cedar Rapids. Everyone knew that if Ron was involved the finished product was carefully done and always excellent. He was a wonderful person.

Thinking of you and your family and wishing you comfort at this time. Pat Ask and Helen Morris

Hello Family, I had the pleasure of meeting you at your Mom's passing and was sad to read the obit on your kind, wonderful Dad. He and I worked on the Habitat for Humanity projects in Marion and he knew I was organizing the 11 churches and did not have one clue about building a home! He had a twinkle in his eye when I called the saw horse see horses or something to that effect but we made a great team and got those homes completed. I moved on to organizing Community Health Free Clinic and felt like I lost a dear friend! Only Faith, Family, Friends, Time and Good Memories will ease the pain your feeling. Our deepest sympathy.

Dear Steve & Ron's Family, Please accept my deepest sympathy on Ron's passing and your loss. Ron was one of the best men that I ever had the privilege of knowing & working for when I worked for Van Note Construction from the Fall of 1978 to the Spring of 1980 . Please also accept my sympathy at this time regarding the previous passing of your mother, Dorothy, as I did not know until reading Ron's obituary that Dorothy had preceded him in death. Dorothy was such a caring woman. I remember when I worked for Ron, when I was a young man of only 20-22 years old, and how Ron & Dorothy took me under the wings (so to speak), and provided far more to me than just a job, but talked to me about life. It was all those experiences that added together to make me turn out to be a better person. I had not spoken to any of you guys since about 1988 when I called Ron one day to ask his advice about roofing my house. I remember how he patiently gave me some basic instructions to get me started, and how he told me that it would be good for me to do this job. This demonstrates how Ron always had time to help a person out. I thought of Ron, Dorothy, and all of you, frequently over the years since then, but unfortunately I never took the time to make a simple phone call to just say hi, and now with Ron's passing I deeply regret that, because I wish I would have called him and thanked him for helping me out and mentoring me during my youth. Well, I think I have said everything that needs saying for now. But you are welcome to send me an email if you would like, and I will gladly respond if you do. I sincerely pray that God comforts you at this time and always. In Jesus name. Amen. Sincerely, Mark Cochran

Steve/Marcie Please know that many caring thoughts are with you during this time of sorrow.....prayers sent! Steve and Deb
