Jean and Frank Fulkerson were the wonderful and caring parents of my best friend Clay, who I met at a grade school art class in 1961. Jean was not only a generous friend to me, over many decades, but a role model who greatly influenced me in my childhood. My deepest, heartfelt condolences to her family and many friends.

I well remember the Fulkersons when they lived across the street from my beloved Grandmother Auten on Dunreath Drive in Cedar Rapids many years ago. What wonderful, watchful, and caring neighbors they were, and my elderly Grandmother never felt there was ever any generation gap whatsoever as she enjoyed visiting with them, hearing about the childrens' activities, sharing bakery, and having Clayton occasionally mow her yard or shovel her driveway when I was unable to do so. Fine neighbors like the Fulkersons are indeed very hard to find anymore in this day and age. Whenever I am in the area, I make certain to take a turn down
Dunreath Drive for memories, and besides seeing my Grandmother's house where I spent so much time as a child, I always make a point of glancing towards the Fulkerson's place with kind thoughts of them, as well.
My very sincerest sympathy to all of the Fulkerson family at this sad time of Jean's passing.
