I was saddened to see that Dr. P. had passed away. You would never know he was ill with cancer by seeing him in the office. He was a skilled physician who helped my sister and father so much. Our sincere sympathies go out to his entire family.

All I can offer is offer my condolences to Dr. P's wife and kids. Dr. P was the very best doctor I have ever had. He saved my life. He will always be in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am so sorry about the passing of Dr. P. He brightened our day at the bank when he came in. He always played lets stump the teller. I will never forget the great times we had sitting at the root beer bar at the bank at the first two Wine Tastings. My deepest sympathy goes to you and your girls. He will be greatly missed.

Terry, What a wonderful celebration for Dr P. I apologize for crying in front of you. What I meant to say was thank you and Paul for helping me. 23 plus years ago I could barely make ends meet for my family. You and Paul trusted me and allowed me in your home as the handyman. It put food in my Zach's mouth and the money helped pay the bills. He gave knowledge and guidance, and motivation to try harder. (Sorry about the weather station on the roof). I will miss him, I don't think there will be another Dr P. It was so incredible to see the Dr p carving I made during Desert Storm displayed tonight. Thank You So Much Jeff Juhl

Dear Kathryn, So sorry to hear about your father's passing. Please call me. I attempted to call you without success. I miss you and Eli! Love, Mary

Terry and family, We are so sorry for your loss of Paul, a wonderful, brilliant, kind and loving friend to both his community and family. He will be missed in the medical community as well as every single person he touched. Our thoughts are prayers are with you and your family today and in the days to come.

You got your wish Dr P - You were able to work until the end like Dr JCN Brown of Iowa City. Any doctor that follows will be filling BIG SHOES! I will never forget you starting Dr P at the office by you looking at my calendar. Dr "first letter of last name" and the rest is history!

Terry and Family, I am so sorry to hear of Doc's passing. I know he had been ill for quite a while, but he never let it get him down. He always looked for the best in everything. When he bought City News & Books, I didn't know what to expect. I am so happy to say it was the best decision I ever made. Not only was he a great boss, he became a dear friend that I will miss. He always had a smile on his face and a joke. He was really good with jokes. You never knew what he would come up with! I have a lot of fond memories of you and Doc and watching the kids grow up was always a bonus. You and Doc always made us feel like family, too. What with the store picnics and parties, we always seemed to have fun. Since we moved to Wyoming, my biggest regret is that I never got a chance to visit when I was back in CR, but you know how it is. There is never enough time and you think time will stand still until you are ready to use it. Jim and I send our deepest sympathies to you and the rest of the family. I will try to get in touch soon. Until then, I wish you the best. Lyn and Jim Schneider

I am so sad to learn that our Dr. P is no longer with us. I have been a patient for 24 years and thought of him as a friend. He always made you feel that he would spend as much time listening as you needed. Always has a smile. He never mentioned being ill and I was shocked to hear I was not going to be able to have appointments any longer. I went out to get a get well card. Two days later, I read the paper. He definitely will be missed and my heart goes out to all of his family. It will not be the same without him. What a wonderful, caring person he was !

Dr. Paul Penningroth was my doctor for 43 years (since I was 20 years old). He was pleasant, smiled a lot, and had a good sense of humor. Sometimes I brought my young daughter Molly with me to appointments in the late 80's. Dr P sometimes had his young daughter Emily with him and the girls enjoyed each other. I regret losing him as my doctor. His illness took him way too soon ( I have a brother who was in the Navy his age). With care and love for all, Roger Scriven

It has been a pleasure knowing Dr P. I have enjoyed helping him at the bank. He always had a smile and a joke to share. He was a wonderful, caring, and sincere man. He will be truly missed by all of us. My prayers are with you Terry and also your daughters. God Bless you all.

Dr. P was an amazing doctor. Making you feel like you were the most important person in the world the few minutes you spent with him. He is the standard by which all doctors should be measured by. He cared for his patients and listened to them, never talked down to them. My heart is breaking for his family and I will be praying for them in the days to come.

Terry, Emily, Claire & family~ Paul was such a kind and caring man! Everytime I/we saw him he was so proud of his family, sweet & genuinely cared how our health was coming along! His lifelong devotion to helping people crippled by mental illness was truly honorable. May he rest in peace. You are all in our thoughts & prayers.

I picked the CR Gazette this morning and read about Dr P. Truly a great man, he told me about business and taught me about medicine and being a doctor. He helped me get into medical school. I will miss his humor and wit. Thanks Dr P. Jeffrey Juhl, DO

Such a kind and caring soul with a wonderful gift in understanding the human mind. The mental health community, his family, and friends have suffered a great loss. He will be missed terribly.

He was a Mentor and a good friend. One of the most dedicated physicians I knew. I will miss him. We are sorry for your loss. Dick and Barb Louvar
