I am so saddened to learn that Betty, BJ or Fish, as I knew her, has passed away. BJ belonged to a forum that deals with Sjogren's Syndrome - an autoimmune disease that attacks your moisture producing glands in your body. Even though I never met her in person, we talked often in our chat on the forum. She was a faithful regular on our forum for years and years. It's been so unlike her not to be around for a long time now and I got to inquiring with other staff if they had heard anything or knew anything. Nobody did. I knew her name and googled it tonight and found this notice for her. Rest in peace, BJ . . free from all the struggles you had with your lungs and the effects that Sjogren's had on you. We miss you in chat and around the forum. Until we meet again . . . . . hugs. My sympathy to her cousins - she talked of you all often.

I was saddened to see Betty's obituary in the newspaper. I just talked to her in April when she scheduled her annual carpet cleaning service. She told me she was on medical leave but she was hoping to go back to work soon. My technician was there the last week in April, he sad sad when I told him she passed away. We both were hoping she was getting better. She was really sweet and I got a kick out of her humor when she would tell me her name and say like the Charmain commericals (Mr Whipple) :) God bless you Betty

Betty, you were very caring and always a pleasure to work with. You went out of your way to make sure others were taking care of. I enjoyed working with you over the past decade. God Bless and rest in peace.

Betty, you were one of the most caring and nicest people I've ever had the privilege of knowing. When I first started at Transamerica you were one of the first people to come up and get to know me. You always seemed to really care about others and wanted to always make them feel special and welcome. You will be sorely missed and we will see each other again someday. God Bless

Goodnight, Peanut

Betty had such a sweet and inspiring soul. I will miss the laughter we shared together and the smile she gave. I'm sadden by losing her from my life. You will be missed!!

Betty and I went to Wilson and Jefferson together many years ago. All of you have said so well what a wonderful person she was and I know she loved her animals. That is something we shared as we briefly reconnected at Penick & Ford several years ago. Till we meet again little Betty...I take care of the crew down here.

Ms. Whipple your were a very kind and sweet gal. Truly will miss your spunk in the mornings when you were keying your enrollments when I was over there on that side. You always had time for others no matter what you were working on and always brought ideas to the table. Your at peace now and no longer in pain you are free what better way to be, i'm glad I had the chance to get to know the little time we worked together.

Your positive outlook and friendly smile will be greatly missed Betty. I can't remember one day where you had a negative thing to say. I admire your strength and courage and hope that you are now at peace. We will miss you!!

Betty was one for accuracy so I have to add this-it was at my parent's wedding anniversary that she chatted up the Japanese tourists at breakfast-not California. Sorry guys, I need more coffee-Betty, I'm sure you understand and are laughing at this! God bless you Betty Boop, I miss you bad! love, Carol

I didn't know Betty very well but what I knew of her through work at Transamerica, she was the sweetest person. She was always so very helpful and very nice. No matter what she had going on with her own work , she would always stop and help others. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. She was taken so young and she will be missed.

Betty Jean was a talker, intelligent, and bold. We were on a family trip in California for Buzz's retirement and she was chatting up Japanese tourists at breakfast one day. I was amazed she was so bold to talk and share a meal with strangers! They looked like they were all having a good time, I hope they understood each other. Betty was happy as a clam being on her own, and we enjoyed her immensely. I tried my best to turn her into a wild woman I called Betty Boop, she adopted the Betty Boop picture for her facebook if you have seen it. I wish we could have visited her more, but due to distance and finance we only were able to see her again at my parent's 60th wedding anniversary, where my husband fell in love with her too. I know she is in heaven with all of our relations who have passed before us, and is probably going over Christ's geneology as we speak. For such a tiny person - she took after her mom-she sure had lots of energy, boldness, and has now gone where no man has gone before-only girls allowed? -just kidding, she was a large part of our family in a tiny package. We will miss her very much. Betty, I will see you sometime in the future, and give everyone a hug and kiss for us ok?

Betty was a very kind, thoughtful person and always a pleasure to deal with at work. You are now at peace with God.

Although I have only had the pleasure of working with Ms. Betty for the past 2 yrs or so; that is deffinately more than enough time to see how sweet and kind hearted she was inside and out. She was always willing to lend a hand and more than willing to strike up a conversation if you needed to talk. She will deffinately be missed but never forgotten. Rest in Peace Ms. Betty.

Although our time together was brief, you will leave an impact on my life. It was great to know you, Betty, and may you now rest in peace. A donation to Cedar Rapids AniMeals is being made in your honor.

You were taken from us too soon. Thank you for all the wonderful years of dedicated services you delivered to our company and your co-workers. Your strength and determination to battle is a role model for all of us. God bless you.

I was Betty's Realtor for years and worked with her and Dorothy in the purchase and sale of many homes. Betty was a kind, caring, sweet person. I am saddened by her passing. Rest in peace dear Betty.
