Ooops Best DAD ever!!!!! No question marks???

Mr. Tom Long's kindness, sincerity, upbeat spirit and that bright beautiful smile will remain an inspiration to me and many others forever! He was a precious gift to humanity, an example of how we should live our lives --always striving with a great attitude no matter the situation. His love & light will shine on infinitely through the many hearts he touched. Best DAD ever????????? Love you guys !

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Tom. I graduated from Boone HS in the class of '67. I did not know that you lived in Marion, too. I remember him from school as always wearing a big smile on his face. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

Mary, Kristi, and Ryan I am so sorry to hear about Tom. Kristi always had good stories to share about the fun she had with her father and about how much he meant to her. The few times I met Tom he was welcoming, friendly, positive, upbeat, and funny. My thoughts are with you all during this time.

Tom has been a important part of my life for 45 years when he first met my sister in 1970. My brother and I didn't think he was the one for her but our minds were soon changed. Tommy has always been a man of sincerity and determination, when he made his mind up to do something he did it even if he had to do it alone(Blue Man Group, it was on his list) there was no talking him out of it. I'll miss the phone calls when he would say "just checking up on you Uncle Bud". We will talk again some day face to face. Love Ya Tommy, Uncle Bud

We are so sorry for your great loss. Thoughts and prayers.

My deepest sympathy for your loss. I had only known Tom a very short time as I had just started my position at Pat McGrath in June but he was one of the first person that was always so friendly to me and made me feel welcome. He always had a smile on his face.

Mary and Ryan I am so sorry to hear of Tom's passing. He was my partner in crime in the Marketing Dept @ SAMS. We had some adventures on the road and he always had a teachable moment. I will remember him fondly every time I make a u turn, he absolutely did not like that....until the time his gps told me to make a u turn. We laughed. Please accept my sympathies on your loss.

Mary, Kristi, and Ryan--It has been many years since we have seen each other but as Cheryl N. and I discussed, Tom's passing is like losing a family member for us too. We were all so close during those Jaycee years and still remain family in our hearts. It is indeed a sad day to hear this news but those memories of great times will be treasured. May we all celebrate his good life. My prayers are with you. May you find strength and comfort in God. Hugs to you all. Lorna Stephenson

We were so saddened to hear of Tom's passing. He truly was one of the most cheerful and kind hearted person we have ever known. No matter what came his way he always had a smile and joke to tell. There are so many wonderful memories to treasure in Spirit Lake as well as the antics at Drake Relays. Our condolences to you Mary and your family. John and Shannon Sandy

I have had the pleasure of working with Tom for the last couple of years. Every morning he would always greet me with a smile and such a cheerful spirit, you couldn't help but feel his contagious joy. He will be deeply missed! My thoughts and prayers will be with his family. May you find comfort in your beautiful memories of such a great man.

Mary and kids. So sorry to read about Tom's passing. even though it's been years since we saw each other we still communicated via the net. We both worked with Iowa Electric and was in the National Guard together. Have fond memories of our time together. This is too young to leave us as we start to enjoy our retirement years and begin to enjoy family. My prayers to all of you. RIP Tom, many will miss you.

Tom was one of the first people I met when I started at Iowa Electric in 1975. My heartfelt condolences to Mary and the rest of Tom's family. I always knew there was a smile and a wave coming from Tom when I'd drive by. He was kind to me and put up with my garbage cans blowing into his yard or me questioning him on how to fix things at my condo. He was a great example of being neighborly. I will miss seeing him outside. Mary, Chewy and all who love and miss his, you have a place in my heart, thoughts and prayers.

Condolences to Tom's family from an Iowa Electric employee who enjoyed working with Tom. He always was a happy go lucky guy and this picture is exactly how I remember him. Treasure his memories
