My family has very fond memories of Mr and Mrs Winker (as we called them back then) and Jim and Steve. She was such a lovely woman. When Rolling Hills was being built, THE HILL, was not paved. As I recall back in 1962 we had an over abundance of rain that year. Getting up the hill was a challenge, not to mention the mess from the mud. Your Mom knew we didn't want to wear boots to school, after all we had just entered high school, and that was not cool, so she told us to wear the boots up the hill, change into our shoes, leave the boots by the tree, pick them up after school. That is what we did, for weeks people would go by the Winker house and see Joans and my boots hugged up next to the tree. I smile really big when I think of her. So sorry for you loss, you had her for a very long time......

Saddened to see of Inez's passing, she was a great lady and a lovely neighbor to visit! Enjoyed my many talks and just sitting w/ her and Daryl while they lived on the corner in Carroll. Always showing kindness to everyone passing along and thoughtful to everyone. Prayers for all the family!

Jim, Ruth and family. Thinking about you at this time with thoughts and prayers. Linda and Al Olson

Gail, Jim , Steve and family Sorry to hear about our Mom. Jim and I have so many fond memories of the times we spent with your parents. We are very lucky to have had them as friends. I had a nice visit with Inez at Thelma's funeral. I am really glad that she talked me into staying for the lunch and visiting with her. Sorry we will not be able to make the services, but Jim's health just wouldn't allow it. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. Joleen Thielen

Sometimes being a cook for 100 people can be difficult....but when you are cooking for someone like Inez, it makes it all worth while. I really enjoyed seeing And chatting with Inez every day at Summit Pointe. I loved to make her laugh! On Monday I was lucky to see Inez playing cards and stop in to give her a quick hug! I'm praying for your family and know how much we all thought of Inez.

I always enjoyed visiting with Inez when I cut her hair, at Summit Pointe. She would always come down to see if I had time for a quick do after playing cards, usually I did and we would have great conversation!! I will miss our appointments. God Bless, Karen Miller

Mrs. Winker lived around the block from me in Carroll. I also remember her being one of my teachers in elementary school. I wonder why her teaching career wasn't mentioned - I loved school at old St. Joseph's. Her sons use to give me rides on their snowmobile. That was a fun memory. My prayers are with the family. God bless. Pat Rohner

To Gail. Jim, and Steve and your families-we were shocked and saddened to hear of Inez' s passing. We know you will miss her. She seemed so happy in her home at the retirement community. We are sure the pleasant memories of happy times spent with her will comfort you . Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. We would like to join you on Saturday, but we are involved in Red's treatments of leukemia. God bless you all. The Sampsons

The Walz family grew up just two blocks from aunt Inez' family in Carroll. She was always welcoming and thoughtful. She was a devoted wife and mother and much loved by her family. I am so glad to have seen her so recently at my own mother's funeral last month. God bless you Aunt Inez, and your dear family who will miss you always. As will we. I was very saddened to hear of Inezs passing away. She was a wonderful lady and I will miss my nightly visits with her when I am at Summit Pointe . Until we meet again Inez, may you rest in peace!
