Memorial

Henry (Hank) Freie III passed away early Wednesday morning from recently diagnosed cancer, at home, peacefully in the company of his family.  Hank dutifully served his country during the Korean War.  He was an incredibly organized, skilled craftsman who excelled at everything he took on, from his lifelong work as a lithographer to his hobbies needlepointing, wood working, and in the endless pursuit of visiting lighthouses.  After his retirement from Acme Printing in Cedar Rapids in 1996 he and his wife Vicky enjoyed many world travels and adventures (which of course he always painstakingly documented!).

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Vicky, his son Michael, Vicky’s five children, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren & his brother John.  Hank was preceded in death by his first wife June (Welsh) and his second son George & his sister Gerry.

A visitation and memorial service will be held Friday, October 10th at 4PM to 7PM at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Memorial Contributions should be directed to Mount Mercy University.
