My sympathy to the family of a dear lady. Dorothy was a friend who gave generously of her time and talents. We shared Presbytery experiences, "travel talk", and she gave a program about her trip up the Amazon to our PW. Her comforting kindness helped me through the anxious days at the hospital when my husband had back surgery.

Miss Bishop, was my 5th grade teacher at Wright School, she left a life long impression on me. I was always impressed that she was well traveled and would share her experiences with her class. Miss Bishop was stern and well respected by her students, something that is rare today. After her retirement she freely gave of her self as a volunteer for many years at St. Lukes. Miss Bishop was a fine educator and a kind person with great integrity. Blessings to her family. Richard Pankey

Dorothy was 'Miss Bishop' to all four of our Sons who passed through Wright School. She was their"best teacher" and a person to be remembered. Why?, "because she made us work hard and was very fair" Later on , we found a paper written by one of them about a visit to their Grandparents home in Perryville, KY. Miss Bishop had written that she had a connection to that part of KY- but we have no record of any follow up. So blessings on you Dorothy- you live on in our memories. The Ron and Toni McGraw family

My sympathies to you who remember. I have memories of Dorothy as my "right across the street" neighbor for many years on.Wildwood Dr. She lived for teaching, traveling, serving. She was adventurous. She had beautiful plants. She took care of herself and all she owned. She.cleaned her own gutters and once I saw her climbing around on her roof in her older years. That was the.last time, because I made my son go over and do that work for.her from then. She made all my rugs on that giant loom in her basement. To you who.called her.family and to those who called.her.friend, we are.blessed. God is enjoying her presence now as her work on earth was finished. We shared her for 98 years. HE has her for eternity.

I, too, was a student of Miss Bishop's at Wright Elementary, and remember her well. I recently learned she was on the original staff that opened Wright. Miss Bishop clearly cared about her students; she was an inspiration to me as I head learning difficulties and she went out of her way to help me. She touched many lives, and to hear that she volunteered for 43 years doesn't surprise me. She was surely a pillar of the community. My deepest sympathies go to her family.

My deepest sympathy to the family of Dorothy Bishop. She was my 6th grade teach at Wright Elementary over 40 years ago! I was thrilled to have received a postcard from her the year that she went to the Virgin Islands (which was probably the summer I graduated from 6th grade - I don't recall). I just thought it was so cool that she would send it to ME to tell me how much fun she was having, and how beautiful it was. She definitely left an impression on me as a young woman and I'm so glad to know she lived such a long and full life. Thoughts and prayers are with all of you in your time of sorrow.

To the family of Dorothy Bishop. I was a student of Miss Bishop's at Wright Elementary. She was my 6th grade teacher. She was an excellent teacher and obviously left an impression on me, as I have often wondered over the years how she was doing. I am sorry to learn of her passing, but she definitely lived a full life. The fact that she volunteered for 43 years at St. Luke's, along with teaching thousands of children throughout the years says what kind of person she was. May God bless you.

My sympathy to the family of Dorothy, I was not her student, but came to know her through her volunteer work at St. Luke's when I worked in the emergency department there. She was a warm and gracious person and very efficient.

To Miss Bishop's family I extend my condolences. I was a student of Miss Bishop's at Arthur. Always in my memories of Arthur, I see Miss Bishop in her room. She was an excellent teacher, and later in years I would see her serving at St Luke's as an volunteer, where I was employed. She certainly served her community in many ways. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to cross her path. I am very thankful that I had her as a teacher.

Rest in Peace Dorothy! Cara Stolba
