On Friday, November 21, our loved one Robert Hunter, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Born in Lime Springs, Iowa, July 23, 1924, he served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and in 1948 he married Leola Porth.
They have 2 daughters, Bette Thumma (Leroy) from Anamosa and Debbie Smith (Jim) from Cedar Rapids, 5 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
He owned R.H. Silk Screen and was a gifted artist whose paintings hang in the homes of family and friends today.
Bob was a long time member of Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church and will be greatly missed by many.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the nurses and staff at Mercy Hospital and Mercy Hospice for their loving care in his home.
Per Robert’s wishes there will be no visitation or service at this time. Arrangements are being made with Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel. Memorials may be directed to Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church, Mercy Hospice, or to the charity of your choice.
