I am sorry to hear of Christopher's passing. Christopher was a swell guy and I am lucky to have met him. Christopher discovered my blog about vandwelling (people who live in vans or other vehicles) and enjoyed following it. Imagine my surprise when one day Christopher knocked on the door of Dad's house. in Cedar Rapids. At the time, I was taking care of the property before and after Dad died, all the while living in my van in the driveway. He had figured out where to find me and wanted to check out the technology-loaded Chevy Express. Christopher knew of the grief experienced following my father's death and his visit was a huge inspiration. A day or so later, there was a sack on the door containing a bottle of wine and a container of cat treats for my traveling companion, Serena. He was an awesome guy. The last time I saw Christopher, he was ill. It would have likely been in March or April. I was worried and then saddened to see that he passed. He was one terrific, intelligent guy. Chris is in a better place. It's not easy on this planet but God has better things in store for us in the next life. I am sorry for your loss and that Christopher passed so early in life. My thoughts and prayers are with the family! Kindest regards, Bradford Harris Vandwelling in Jones County, Iowa vantrekker.com

Dear Munger family, I was privileged to be both Shawn's and Chris's elementary music teacher at Bowman Woods Elementary. Through the years, I've seen you, Rachel, and it has always been great to 'touch base' and learn where the 'boys' are in their lives. Now, my sympathy goes to you, Rachel, Shawn, all his family and dear friends! We have lost a great soul here on earth! Heaven is much richer! Blessings, Mrs. Diane (Ehlinger) Beach

Rachel-so sorry to hear your loss of your son. We are sure it is tuff. Sending prayers your way for you and the family. Harold Heth (classmate)

I always looked up to Chris growing up. Pretty sure he helped push my introverted young self into doing a lot of what I did growing up. He introduced me to “techno” as well as some other great rockbands and we were always looking for new and different sounds and groups. He helped to further my interest in biking. Whether it was riding though the flooded nature trail, seeing what places we could go to jump our bikes off of things, or our frequent trips to Northtowne to check out what was new. Then there was the whole ‘wide pants’ thing and he was the only other one I knew that wore Reactor+ clothes. Chris also talked me into a brief stint as a golfer. I remember once we were headed to one of the golf courses for some golf event, blasting tunes in the Tracker. We were all excited because we were going to meet Dave Thomas of Wendy’s fame, only to find out he didn’t really want to meet any of us and had jumped out of the car and ran inside the club house. And he had plenty of other influences in my life. I always enjoyed going to hang out with Chris, always wondering what adventures we might go on next. He was almost always in a good mood and put me in a good mood as well. Sadly, as often happens, we lost touch during college but were able to catch up once in a while. He was a great friend and he will be missed. I’m glad to know he was able to touch many other lives as he did my own. Thoughts and prayers with Aimee, Rachael, Shawn, family, and friends.

I am just hearing this news and I can hardly breathe....Rachel and Shawn, I am so sorry and am grieving with you. The way Chris thought was so unique and kept us laughing quite a bit. At the same time he had this very deep thinking side, too...lots of questions about very difficult topics. I would like to talk with you guys when you are feeling up to it. Thinking of you and praying for you! Debbie

Dear Rachel, Shawn and family, I am truly sorry for your loss. I remember growing up with Chris, down the hill from you guys, being in Cub Scouts together and going to school together all the years at Bowman Woods, Novak, and Linn-Mar. I always enjoyed Chris' relaxed and happy demeanor. I am a better person for knowing him. May you all find comfort in this difficult time. My deepest sympathies. Jeff Carlson

My prayers and thoughts go out to the Munger family in this time. Chris was a great guy who truly cared about people in his life.

Ms. Munger and Shawn Don't know if you guys remember me but I used to hang out with Chris when we were in high school and went to the same church and would come over to the house from time to time. I was shocked and saddened by the news of Chris's passing my thoughts and prayers are with you guys and his wife and the rest of the family. I don't need to tell you how great a person Chris was, easy going, accepting, true to himself, unselfish person, and turned me on to a lot of great music. I regret that through the years we lost contact but was glad that I did have the privilege of knowing him. Deepest Sympathy, Jeffrey J Martin

My most sincere thoughts go out to Chris' family and friends. I never actually met him face to face, but worked monthly with him as a vendor for the past five or six years. Of all of my customers, Chris was my one of my favorites because of his intelligence, wit, and professionalism. He will be missed.

Dear Rachel and family- My sincere thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Thinking of you-Jessica (Madison school counselor)

I met Chris on a project we were working on together. Besides his outstanding knowledge in his area of expertise, he never said he didn't have time to help. I was so sad to learn of his passing. My thoughts and prayers go to his family. His memory will be cherished by so many.

My deepest sympathies to his family. I've known Chris for many years and he never failed to impress me with his culinary skills. His conversation was never lacking either. He knew something about every subject! He was a truly amazing guy! He will be missed by so many, but never forgotten! Love Tammy, Wally, Nic, Jacee Cale

I never had the pleasure of meeting Chris, but feel like I know him though the stories Rachel would share with me on our commute to Iowa City or our conversations at work. Please know that I am holding you close in my thoughts and prayers. Terry
