James D. Snetzler, 74, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday June 30, 2014. Services: 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, where visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m.  Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Gary Deville and Rev. Mark Forstrom will officiate. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. 

Survivors include his wife Nancy Snetzler, his son, Joel Snetzler of Cedar Rapids, his grandsons; Joshua Snetzler and John Snetzler both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a brother, Jack (Mary Ralston) Snetzler of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, his mother-in-law, Helen Bruner of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, sisters-in-law, Patricia Reindl of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Paula Bruner of Robins, Iowa. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and father-in-law, Harold Bruner. 

James was born March 14, 1940 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of John and Hazel (Espe) Snetzler. He married Nancy Lee Bruner on September 12, 1959 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. James was employed with the Cedar Rapids Community School System retiring in 1996. He was a member of New Covenant Bible Church where he was active in Pathfinders, and the Men’s Tuesday Bible Study. James loved to travel with his grandsons and friends. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
