You have my deepest condolences on the loss of a great person. I will always remember my first encounter with "Coach": During football practice in my Soph. year I was doing leg lifts, and all of a sudden this new coach was standing on my stomach with a big smile on his face. I kind of faked that it was uncomfortable, but it really wasn' t too bad. Later as we started our first basketball practice I grabbed a ball and started to shoot baskets. I quickly learned from coach that before you touched a ball you were to climb a rope to the gym ceiling and do 25 fingertip pushups. He was a great coach and as Sophs. we had our best season ever. We played the Marion sophs. where coach had a great record(I believe they were undefeated for a couple seasons). Anyway we beat them rather handily and I think coach was quote pleased. What a great record he had in WWll. Never heard a word about that. He was very modest. I am sure he will be missed, but you will have many great memories from a wonderful person. My deepest sympathy to your family! Mr. McLeod was my Algebra teacher in junior high school at Roosevelt. Math did not come easy for me but Mr. McLeod always had time to work with each individual student until they understood the concept or problem. I absolutely loved his class and looked forward to it each day. He was a great teacher that touched many lives through his many years of teaching. Reading through his obituary, I was amazed at all he had accomplished in his life time. He served our country well during WWII. I am sure he will be missed very much by his family and many friends. My sincere condolences to the family! Mr Mcleod was my algebra teacher at Roosevelt around 1976-77. I absorbed his teaching fast and acted as teacher assistant to confused classmates. Was so over-confident that I got a B on test and those I helped got A's. He got a very good laugh out of that! Really enjoyed his class and am proud to say he's one of the very few teachers whos name I've always remembered. He was a great teacher! Happy to hear he lived such a full life!

Dear Ted and Family, I was in your class at Roosevelt and had your father as a math teacher. Some were afraid of his booming voice and size, but I always found him very encouraging and helpful as a teacher. His warm smile and friendly manner made me look forward to his class everyday. I sincerely hope that you will be comforted knowing that he was very instrumental in many lives of kids who needed an adult to believe in them. Remembering him and George Thompson on the sidelines at ball games......the great difference in their sizes..... puts a smile on my face. A great pair of teachers! A great generation! Frank will forever live in our hearts and memories. We are blessed with fond memories of his kind soul, generous spirit and quick wit. He was a man of high integrity and a great mentor and friend to all who knew him. He will be missed and never forgotten. I express my sorrow and heartfelt condolences to the family.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time. I had only met Mac a couple times through Aaron and Tracy, he seemed like a great man. From the stories and talks Aaron had shared he was a wonderful Grandfather and loved by so many. With deepest sympathy, Matt and Jenny Cook

I recall 9th grade football under Coach McLeod. It was one of best memories of those years in large part because of his efforts and the way he handled a challenging group and job. I was not aware of his background until reading his obituary. He was a fine example of the "greatest generation"!

Mr. McLeod was my Geometry teacher when I was a sophomore at Marion High School. I can affirm the booming voice mentioned in his obituary! Later as a teacher at MHS, it was my privilege to have his daughter, Karen, in class. As an adult, I have had occasion to talk with Jane and Frank -- delightful people. My prayer is that the family will enjoy great comfort from their faith and from their memories.

My father was Earl [Mac] McLeod, Frank's cousin. When reading Frank's obituary I was struck by their close resemblance and similar life stories. They were the same age, both attended Coe College and served with the Army overseas in WWII. Frank certainly had a wonderful life. My condolences to the family. Scott McLeod
