We were so sorry to hear of Mrs. Wenndt's passing. Ryan was a student of Mrs. Wenndt's at Alan Shepard in her 3rd grade class. The year Ryan was in her class, he suffered a kidney injury during recess and as a result, had to sit out of physical activity for many weeks. Mrs. Wenndt became Ryan's at-school 'mom' during recess time and would play board games with him, gently reminding him he wasn't able to be outside when he wanted to go play. The days I was able to come and spend recess time, the three of us enjoyed special moments having fun and Mrs. Wenndt helped Ryan forget about the fun of being outside. She truly was one of his favorite teachers!
