DuWayne Reade passed on December 18, 2014 of Cancer.
DuWayne was born October 11, 1951 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to his parents Charles and Pearl Reade. A member of the U.S. Navy, DuWayne served during the Vietnam War. After completing his service to our country, he was employed by A.W. Schmidt as a Truck Driver.
An avid sports fan, DuWayne enjoyed supporting local racing as well as NASCAR. He was an avid Hawkeye, Chiefs, and Cubs fan. A strong family man as well, he was known for being a strong role model as to what it meant to be a father, as he helped raise his niece as a daughter.
He is survived by his wife Mary, his sons Daniel (Tanya) Reade, Brent (Milaena)Reade, Jeremy Reade, his daughters Jennifer (Mike) Schilling, Kristal (Dan) Long, his niece Danielle Riley, his 8 grandkids, his brothers Tracey (Luci) Reade, Graydon Reade, and his close friend Jay Irving. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Terry Reade.
Visitation will be at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on December 22, from 4 to 7 pm. Services will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories at 11 am on December 23. Burial will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
