Scott D. “Steele” Beaty, 45, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday December 18, 2014. Memorial Services: 11:30 a.m. Saturday January 3, 2014 at First Lutheran Church, where a visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. The Rev. Craig Brown will officiate. Iowa Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Misty Kaye Beaty, his son, Briggs David Beaty, his mother, Valerie, Step-father, (Jack) Glotfelty of Oregon, Illinois, his brother, Aaron (Melissa) Beaty of DeKalb, Illinois, and his grandfather, Arthur Dietze of Oregon, Illinos. He was preceded in death by his father, David Beaty and grandmother, Grace Dietze.
Scott was born September 28, 1969 in Dixon, Illinois, the son of David and Valerie (Dietze) Beaty. He married Misty Hartman on October 29, 2005. Scott was a well know Radio Host for KHAK/KRNA Radio Stations. He is a graduate of Augustana College, Illinois State University and a member of First Lutheran Church, on the Board of Directors for Greg's Mission and an avid participant at Relay for Life.
He loved the Chicago Bears, White Sox and the Illini. He participated in many sports throughout life but his true love was golf. Scott's sense of humor was known to many including stand up comedy at Penguin's. Practical jokes were his forte.
Scott had a very devout faith. His love for family was shown to his wife, son Briggs, his buddy “Chilli”, and all his friends
