Ruth Elizabeth Kaufman, 90, of Cedar Rapids died August 9, 2014 at Northbrook Manor Care Center. A private family funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 15, 2014 at the Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Ruth is survived by her 4 sons, Mike (Cindy) Cobb of Medford, Oregon; Pat (Sandra) Cobb of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Eddie Jones of Delhi, Iowa; Dennis (Lana) Cobb of Solon, Iowa; 6 grandchildren, Brent, Jodi, Brian, Todd, Mike and Richard; and 7 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George Kaufman, a daughter Patricia Kaufman and sister, Margie Woodward.
Ruth Elizabeth Kaufman was born October 20, 1923 in Yonkers, New York the daughter of Willis and Betty (Ruppert) Anderson. Ruth worked as a restaurant owner for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, playing cribbage, spending time with her family and was also a very faithful Chicago Cubs fan. Ruth was a loving and caring person.
Memorials in Ruth’s honor may be directed to the Hospice of Mercy.
