Eunice W. Bender, 94, a resident of the Lutheran Home in Vinton died there on Thursday after a brief illness. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home after 10:00 AM on Saturday.
Survivors include a nephew Jim Bender of Marion and three nieces, Ann, Earlene and Carolyn; and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
Eunice was born on August 26, 1919 in Jackson County, Iowa the daughter of William and Anna Bruns Bender. She was in sales at Sears and retired from there after more than 27 years of service.
Eunice was a member of the Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crafts, baking, playing golf, reading and was an avid Cub’s fan. Throughout her life she had been a loving caregiver to those people who were important in her life. She was a wonderful lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial fund has been established in Eunice’s name.
