Horst A. Zahn, 79, 3818 C Ave NE died Sunday, November 7, 2004 at Northbrook Manor following a long illness. Services: 1:00 P.M. Thursday at Our Savior Lutheran Church. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 PM to 8 PM Wednesday. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Jim Adix will officiate.
Surviving in addition to his wife Virginia are two sons, Thomas Zahn and his wife Becky and David Zahn and his wife Suzanne all of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Annette Titera of Cedar Rapids; and two grandchildren, Bianca and Trever.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Horst was born January 14, 1925 in Readlyn the son of Karl and Selma Mertens Zahn. He married Virginia Cline on October 29, 1950 in Oelwein. He was an accountant at Iowa Electric Light and Power from 1950 to 1984. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and the V.F.W. #788. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. "Say?I've got a question" was a line he used that everyone knew him from.
