Memorial
: Hal C. Vaughn, 50, of North Liberty, died Saturday, August 14, 2004, at the Clarinda Iowa Treatment Complex following a courageous battle with Huntington's Chorea Disease. Memorial services at 3 PM Friday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Karen Beals will officiate. His family will receive friends from 2 PM to service time at the Chapel. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife Pamela of North Liberty, two sons, Terry Vaughn and wife Kim of Mt. Vernon, and Chad Vaughn of North Liberty, two grandsons, Dustin Albrecht Vaughn of West Branch, and Alex Vaughn of North Liberty, stepmother Joyce Vaughn of Eldon, two brothers John M. Vaughn of Muscatine, and Tony Vaughn and wife Cindy of Cedar Rapids, one sister Roxanne Bekaert and husband David of Nebraska, and one stepbrother Les Paris and wife Kim of Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents John W. and Darlene, grandparents John J. and Margaret, and two brothers Keith and Dennis.
Hal was born September 7, 1953 in Cedar Rapids the son of John W. and Darlene Vaughn. He married Pamela Bruce on September 22, 1972 in Cedar Rapids. Hal worked at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City for over 20 years.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Hal's name for Huntington's Chorea Disease Research in care of the family.
